Partido Reporma senatorial bets vouch for Lacson-Sotto tandem in Bulacan

SAN RAFAEL, Bulacan — Senatorial candidates running under Partido Reporma joined forces to present their platforms and boost the respective electoral bids of their chairman and standard-bearer Panfilo “Ping” Lacson and his running mate Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III.

The Lacson-Sotto tandem barnstormed Bulacan, Saturday (November 27), for their weekly “Online Kumustahan” in Tambubong Elementary School that was connected to nine other satellite venues in the province. It was also streamed live via Zoom and social media to reach more of their supporters.

Partido Reporma senatorial bet Dr. Minguita Padilla was also present for the socially distanced gathering to speak about her long-running advocacies on public health, which she plans to institutionalize once she receives her legislative mandate from the Filipino voters.

Dr. Padilla said she wants to focus on improving healthcare services in the country through the Universal Healthcare Act, which seeks to provide free medicines and hospitalization for patients who need treatment in both public and private hospitals in the country.

The seasoned ophthalmologist and public servant underscored that her advocacies on public health need leaders like Lacson and Sotto to spearhead their effective implementation because it would entail careful budget planning, which they are prepared to deliver.

“Naniniwala ako na kahit anong mga pangarap, kahit imposible man tingnan ay mangyayari kung sila ang maupo na ating pangulo at bise presidente,” Dr. Padilla told an estimated crowd of 3,000 supporters who are physically and virtually present at the ‘Online Kumustahan’ event.

(I believe that whatever dreams we have [for our nation], no matter how impossible they are to achieve, can happen and will happen if they [Lacson and Sotto] are elected as our president and vice president.)

Fellow senatorial candidate Monsour del Rosario joined the team via Zoom and he, too, presented his platforms. He said he would propose legislations for the benefit of our healthcare workers, agricultural sector, the youth and Filipino athletes bringing glory to our nation.

Del Rosario is hailed as a taekwondo icon and represented the country in many international sports competitions including the 1988 Seoul Olympics. He is currently in Negros Occidental campaigning for the Lacson-Sotto tandem and their senatorial ticket including himself.

Retired General Guillermo Eleazar, meanwhile, spoke to Bulacan residents from Digos City, Davao del Sur, where the Lacson-Sotto tandem also gained a significant number of supporters. Eleazar is seeking a Senate seat to continue serving the public after his retirement from the police force.

Lacson formally welcomed Eleazar to Partido Reporma last November 15, and stated that he is counting on the former Philippine National Police chief to continue his legislative legacy in the Senate, especially with respect to laws concerning peace and order.

The Partido Reporma standard-bearer thanked their supporters in Bulacan for placing their trust on their respective good governance and anti-corruption platforms, which they believe could help lead our country towards a more inclusive social and economic progress.
